Idina Menzel has expressed her support of a lover-made request for her Frozen character to be a lesbian in the sequel.

Before this month, a social networking effort was established by supporters of the hit animated movie utilizing the hash tag “ ” encouraging Disney managers to provide women love interest to the picture’s snow queen Elsa, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend.

The possible move would make Elsa the family- movie company’s first homosexual character in one of their movies that are animated, as well as the motion gained a ground swell of support from networking users.

One supporter tweeted: “GiveElsaAGirlfriend therefore small children will learn that girls loving ladies is standard even when their parents teach them otherwise,” while still another person provided: “#GiveElsaAGirlfriend because LGBTQ (lesbian, homosexual, bi-sexual, transgender, queer) females are equally as deserving of love as any other Disney character you wear the large screen.”

As well as the effort has received the sanction from Elsa herself, as Idina Menzel informed Entertainment Tonight in the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday that she’d be open to her animated alter-ego finding love having a girl onscreen.

I believe it’s excellent,” Menzel stated. “Disney’s only gotta compete with that. I’ll make them figure out that. Regardless of what, my life altered.”

The performer helped Frozen win one of two Academy Awards in 2014, when her hit monitor “Let It Go” won the Best Original Song prize. The film won for Best Animated Feature.

Menzel will be straight back to express Queen Elsa in Frozen 2, that will also feature the return of Kristen Bell as Princess Anna, and Josh Gad as snowman Olaf. Jennifer Lee and directors Chris Buck, who penned the script for the 2013 strike, are back aboard to helm the followup.
